Iowa vs. # 5 Penn State

Line: Penn State – 9 ½

The Hawkeyes handed the Arizona Wildcats their first loss in front of a raucous crowd in Iowa City. Adam Robinson toted the pigskin 18 times for 101 yards and two scores. QB Ricky Stanzi was solid going 20-32 for 205 yards. The key to the victory was the Hawkeye defense who stymied the visitors allowing only 8 first downs for the entire game. Their next test will not be so easy.

The #5 Nittany Lions and legend Joe Paterno continue to roll. Penn State is 3-0, all blowouts against lesser competition. Iowa will be their stiffest test to date with some added motivation. The Happy Valley faithful had their eyes set on a National Title in 2008 until that fateful day in Iowa City. The Nittany Lions schedule set up nicely as they just defeated Big Ten power Ohio State in Columbus. Riding a 9-0 record with visions of the BCS trophy in sight, Penn State was upset 24-23 by a rowdy bunch of Hawkeyes. This week, the only thing in the Nittany Lions’ line of vision is revenge.

Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi and RB Adam Robinson will be in charge of controlling the pace of the game to keep the 100,000+ Penn State fans out of the game. Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz will play conservatively and rely on his defense to keep the game close and try to steal the victory in the 4 th. Joe Paterno will rely on a bevy of quick receivers, experienced QB Daryll Clark and stud RB Evan Royster. Iowa will keep it close but the Penn State faithful will be too much.

Prediction: Penn State 27 Iowa 17
